Database Provisioning

Every database, provisioned to the same standard. On any engine, any cloud, in minutes.

Tessell turns provisioning into one guided workflow across compute, storage, networking, HA, security, and backup, all configured from approved standards. The first database and the five-hundredth are built the same way, whether they run on AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.

Provisioning is a ten-step workflow. Slow, complex, and hard at scale.

Provisioning a database has never been a single step - VM, OS, software, storage, network, security, HA, backups. At scale, the gap between requesting one and running one is where time and consistency are lost.
Getting to a running database takes a chain of steps.

Getting to a running database takes a chain of steps.

VM creation, OS configuration, software install, storage, networking, security hardening, HA, and backup setup. Each is a separate hand-off, and each is a place where time is added.
Every team does it a little differently.

Every team does it a little differently.

When provisioning is manual, configurations vary between people and teams. Those small differences surface later as inconsistencies in compliance, performance, and supportability.
Application teams wait in the queue.

Application teams wait in the queue.

When every new environment needs the central database team, provisioning becomes a bottleneck. Delivery slows while requests wait for specialist time.
What Tessell gives you

From request to running, in one guided workflow.

Everything a database needs to go live, configured from approved standards, available to the teams that need it, and exportable as code. Here is what that looks like in practice.

One workflow provisions the full stack.

A single guided flow handles compute, storage, networking, high availability, security, and backup policy, for any supported engine on any supported cloud. The same workflow whether it is Oracle on AWS or PostgreSQL on Azure, so the estate is built one consistent way.

Application teams provision within parameters and options profiles defined in advance, so every database starts from an approved baseline rather than a blank configuration. Teams move at their own pace while central standards stay intact.

Every provisioning action can be exported as code, so database provisioning fits into the pipelines and infrastructure-as-code your teams already run. The guided workflow and the API are the same capability, surfaced two ways.

Operational Lifecycle Management

Provisioning is where the lifecycle begins.

A database that is fast to provision still has to be kept current, watched, and protected. Tessell manages the full operational lifecycle from one platform.

Questions
Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, all from the same guided workflow.
Standard shapes are balanced for general-purpose workloads and can be resized after provisioning, with storage expandable later. High Performance shapes are NVMe-backed and IO-optimized for demanding workloads; the compute shape and storage are set at provisioning and are not resized afterward.
Yes. For Oracle and SQL Server on Standard shapes, Tessell's multi-service model lets one VM host multiple isolated database instances, once the option is enabled on the server.
Yes. Teams provision within parameter and options profiles defined centrally in DB Governance. If no custom profile is selected, a default profile applies, so every database starts from an approved baseline.
Yes. Every provisioning action can be exported as code in Shell, Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, or PowerShell directly from the workflow, so it fits into existing pipelines.
Encryption at rest is on by default, private-only access is the default, and a backup and RPO policy are set at provisioning. High availability, custom parameters, pre and post scripts, and the maintenance window are configured by choice in the same flow.
